The most pretty part would be “people”, no matter which cities you are staying. In these five years, New York city made me all joyful, warmth, unforgettable memory. I would believe that” If I can make it there, I’m gonna make it just about anywhere.”
2014/5
I took the shuttle from Boston to New York to meet friend. The was my first time to see the “Big Apple”. As a student, I was always checking how can save some money on food, transportation.
2014/6
I came to NYC again to study in 1.5 months. I was staying in Manhattan uptown area. And my room was pretty tiny and it was not good to concentrate. I always came to school to finished my team research, discussion, etc. Finally our final-report was A+. It came out the nice ending of my school life! 
Before graduation, I was showing mom around the NYC. Basically I was kind of ” half New Yorker” – mixed with tourist and local city resident. I enjoyed the great time with mom and I got the chances to know more about NYC.
Later on, my brother just finished the internship in Boston. We met in NYC and traveled in this city a bit.
I love the high pace of this city. And because of family, it gave me a lot of sweet memory.
During this time, I submitted my resume, attend interviews continually. I always got some confident to myself – ” I got this and I can stay here” . However, it looks like i lost my pace in this period sometimes after getting some rejections. It was uncertain period as you didn’t know where you’re gonna be next couple months – for here or to go?
One day, I was talking to a company to introduce myself. And I was saying I’m in New York. The manager( current manager) said, “we can discuss more when you are back to California”.” Well, I decided to back to California and gave it a try.
Then I finished my interview, got the offer and started to work. The story of me and my current company is still going on and on and on…
2017/4
When I came to New York again, the weather was pretty abnormal. It was a lot of snow and it was too cold! And I was so excited to experience the white city.
Mr.D and I went to a nice Mediterranean restaurant. We loved their atmosphere but food was just okay and overpriced. And we watched “The Phantom of the Opera” and got lost sometimes. I would said we don’t have some sense of art and it would be nicer to walk around in downtown.
2019/4
It was my fourth time to come New York. Perhaps I grow old now, I was more melancholy in this time.
My flight was red eye. It reminds me I also bought the same red eye flight to New York five years back. I tried to save money in that time, so I didn’t take taxi or Airtrain. I just took morning 7:00am bus and dragged two big luggage to 3rd floors.
I was too afraid my luggage were stolen so I didn’t ask anyone help. And until now I can still feel the tremble hands at that moment.
When I saw Time square, Nintendo shop, Rockefeller center, I can still see the moment I had. ( Five years ago, I was walking all of the places in New York with mom. And I was taking my brother to walk from 72nd to 9th and eat there!
Now back to now in 2019! I asked Mr.D if we can go Empire state, or Statue of Liberty. He said , “Meh….”. We are pretty lazy people but not bad actually! We just need to go out sometimes and smell some city fresh air, try some nice food together. And life is so good now. I looked at our photo and feel the traveling with another one is not bad!

It’s some deep meaning in Mandarin. I could translate to – Enjoy life and grow old together hand in hand.
Final
My flight was departing. I looked at the NYC was getting smaller, and then disappeared. The evening orange sky was bringing NYC even prettier. I suddenly got more emotional and thought when I’ll see you again, NYC?
Five year. And you know time flies.
I hope I can be stronger when the next time I’m here.
